Before you leave a Northern Michigan house empty

Heading south, or just gone for a few weeks, the house still has to get through lake weather without you. This is the same close we walk with owners before a watch starts.

Walk it once before you lock up

Run water, look at the furnace, note anything that already looks off. A small stain or a sticky door is easier to explain now than in a photo from next month.

Keys, vendors, and who gets a call

Leave a clear key plan and a short list of who we can call — plumber, electrician, snow, or a neighbor. If a pipe lets go or a storm takes a tree down, you want that list in someone's pocket up here, not only on your phone.

What happens after you leave

On a watch we check the property on a set cadence, send stamped photos, and alert you if something is wrong. If you want that in place before you drive out, request service or call 231-227-8973.
